Paul hated being small. Look at the Small Paul thread under Paul if you want to get an idea of how short he really was !

Better yet, check THIS out:
Paul & Ringo > [image]

They're both wearing similar shoes.

Paul doesn't appear to be more than an inch taller than Ringo.
They're very close in height.

Here it also appears that they were very close in height to each other.

Here's three photos that show how small Paul was:

Paul used to try all kinds of tricks to make himself appear taller. I have found a few photos showing him doing this. Here are two of them. I will post more as I come across them. He also had lifts to put in his shoes, & he even went so far as to have special shoes made to increase his height. Bill doesn't need any help being tall. I have photos of him either in flat shoes or in stocking feet, & he's still taller than everyone else.
I will be posting evidence of this as I find the photos in question.

It's obvious in the previous two photos that Paul & Bill are shaped differently. In all of the above photos in this thread, it can be seen that Paul had a shorter torso than Bill does!

The Paul dummy and the Ringo dummy are the same height as each other. The John dummy & the George dummy are the same height as each other.

I've found another photo where everyone is trying to help Paul look taller.
Including Paul himself of course

The only one who doesn't seem to care is Ringo.
He's standing in the street.
In fact, the people posing with the boys seem to be IN on the joke !
Paul is standing up on the step.
John & George are standing half on the step,
half in the street to make themselves appear SHORTER.
Paul appears barefoot &
he's laughing his ass off thinking that he got away with it !!!

I just found this photo. In this one, it seems that the joke is on Paul:

Ringo is hugging Paul across the shoulders,
because they're both almost the same height.
George is poking his head inbetween them &
seems to be saying, " try to get out of THIS one
". John is standing in front of Paul & it's obvious
that he's quite a bit taller than him

Here's another one I just found. From when The Beatles met Cassius Clay:

Paul is standing directly behind George. You can see both boys feet. Comparing shoulders, Paul is a LITTLE shorter than George. However, look at Paul's feet. The instep of his foot is pushing against the top of his boat shoes. He appears to be barefoot.
George is wearing socks, & his foot is flat in his shoe.
Paul has something inside of his shoe that is pushing his foot up. You can even see that the back of his foot is riding higher in the shoe than it should be

I've been wanting to do this comparison for awhile:

Paul & Ringo, 1963/64> [image]

Bill & Ringo, 1967> [image]

Paul & Ringo are wearing shoes with a similar heel in the first photo. Paul looks no more than an inch or 2 taller than Ringo. In the second photo, Bill is wearing FLATS. It's obvious that he towers over Ringo !

It seems that the two shorter ones are sitting on the table ! 8-)

Paul standing next to Ritchie ( Ringo ) during the filming of HELP !!!

You can see that Paul is only about 2 inches taller than him ! Paul has his arms crossed, and Ritchie has his shoulder down on the side closest to Paul. However, if you compare Ritchie's other shoulder to Paul's, you can see that the height difference isn't very much at all ! Also, compare their waists ! 8-)

I wish I knew more about how to grab pictures and repost them because there are a few on this board which I think can be misleading because they are not framed straight and even. This last photo is misleading too because they are all standing at different distances from the camera which will make those further away look smaller. Paul and Ringo are behind John and George (look at the position of their feet) and that is why George and John look so big compared to them.

That doesn't change anything about how different Paul looks in some of these pictures though. I hope nobody thinks I am being critical of this board with what I said about the pictures being straight and all. I agree with the points of his height compared to Ringo because he looks taller in some of the newer pics. Very good eye!

ForNoOne, thank you for pointing that out about the photo of them on the beach. However, that still doesn't negate the fact that Paul & Ringo were pretty close in height, and Faul TOWERS over Ringo. The below two photos illustrate this perfectly.

As you can see in the photo of Paul & Ringo, they are wearing similar shoes and Paul seems to be maybe an inch taller than him ? In the photo of Faul & Ringo, Faul is wearing flats, and he looks to be about 4 inches taller than Ringo.

True just posted this photo today. I think that it's a good height comparison between Paul & Ringo. Paul is definitley not much taller than Ringo in this photo, compare their shoulders.

Paul doesn't look that much taller than Ringo. It doesn't appear that George or John are standing on anything. Doesn't look like Paul is sitting either.

Linda McCartney was 5 ft. 7 in. tall. Jim McCartney appears to be the same height as her. In the photo of Paul, Jim & Michael McCartney Paul appears to be not much taller than his dad.
